Reduce your risk of Coronavirus Infection
The new coronavirus also referred to as COVID-19 virus, has become a pandemic as it continues to spread around the world. There are basic protective measures that one can take against this new coronavirus which are listed below.
- Wash your hands frequently.
Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water to kill viruses that may be on your hands.
- Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 meter distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing to avoid breathing in droplets infection if the person has the COVID-19 virus
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses which may be transferred your eyes, nose or mouth and can make you sick.
- Practice respiratory hygiene
Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze as droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.
