On the 7th of April 2018 the world celebrates World Health Day under the theme: Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere.

The slogan for 2018 is Health for All.

World Health Day would not have come at a better time for us as a nation. Zimbabwe is currently in the process of replacing the previous Public Health Act of 1924 which was limited in scope, as it did not take cognisance of issues currently affecting Zimbabwe’s health sector, which include changes in diseases, and life style and other health patterns. The new bill is set to address issues to do with compulsory immunization, among other changes, as the country intensifies efforts to fight killer diseases which have resulted in unnecessary loss of life among infants.

Remember, every one of us has a part to play to help our country achieve and maintain health for all.
